The pure fact that this doesn’t even need a title or a description or anything speaks volumes. I mean look at the number of notes this has. There are so few people who don’t recognize it. And the song itself just gives you chills. It’s so magical.

The P!ink song “Stupid Girls” might come off as actually meaningful if it was being sung by someone who isn’t a conventionally attractive white girl. As it is, P!nk just comes off as ragingly hypocritical hipster punk who thinks that promoting negative stereotypes against other women is a way to showcase her supposedly-superior intelligence.

All it showcases is that she is every bit as artificial and talentless as the “pop tart” types she derides, every bit as much a simple product of the entertainment media. She’s simply been crafted and packaged for a slightly different audience than Britney Spears.

And yes, I know it’s an old song by now; it just came up on my Internet radio and I was getting madder and madder listening to it.

Hi guess what

“mental illnesses” are indeed very different than actual illnesses.

stop saying shit like “would you tell someone with cancer that they’re over exaggerating?”  because it’s very disgusting and you should just not

mental illnesses are called that for a reason

they are in your head

thats all you dude

Hmm that’s an opinion. And it’s wrong, very wrong

Of course depression is different from cancer. MS is also different from cancer. Different illnesses are, well, different, and I can understand a certain amount of discomfort, because this sort of discussion does come up on the line of appropriating the struggles of people who are struggling with illnesses like cancer, MS, diabetes, IBS, ect.

However, the stuff in your head isn’t some magic otherwordly nothing. Your head (should, at least) contain fats and bone and nervous tissue and blood and membranes and amino acids and steroids, etc. Your head contains physical structures, and when something is wrong with them it’s just as serious as when there’s something wrong with other parts of you. Take a look at brain scans of healthy and depressed people side-by-side, or consider the symptoms of depression that aren’t related to mood. Fatigue, poor memory, chronic pain, sleep difficulties. These are no more in someone’s control than anything else in their body going wrong.

Not to mention that depression is a fairly common complication of other chronic illnesses.

Your mind and your body are absolutely not, in any way, separate.

depression is when you don’t really care about anything

anxiety is when you care too much about everything

and having both is just like what

“Lilo and Stitch” 2002

Deleted Scene

Lilo plays a trick on the tourists.

IF YOU LIVED HERE YOU’D UNDERSTAND

I desperately need to understand

WHY

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY

Was this scene cut from the movie??!!

Fucking christ, do you know what this would have done? What this would have meant to SO MANY people??  The truth of this is devastating. And to think it almost found it’s way into a DISNEY film??

The inclusion of this scene alone would have made it the greatest animated feature the company ever produced. Easily. And if you think that’s hyperbolic clearly you don’t understand.

No, really, if anyone knows why this was cut PLEASE let me know.

oh man WHY WOULD they cut this, this is so great, holy MOLY

It was clearly something the crew was very reluctant to get rid of if it made it all the way to rough-clean (and in a few scenes clean!), fully inbetweened animation. That is like, thousands and thousands of dollars and weeks (months?!) of labour. Maybe a reluctant producer decided they would alienate their white middle-class American audiences by making them feel “too guilty” and pressed them to drop it? It’s unfortunate, it’s one of the most honest accounts of racism in a Disney movie (which is why it’s believable that someone got uncomfortable and made a case to get it chopped)

Designing entertainment by committee for maximum marketability is probably the most heartbreaking process in Hollywood.

I’ve been seeing this around my dash and think it deserves some more recognition!

This shit is hilarious, too.

NO WAIT SHIT

I GET IT NOW

I GET WHY SHE WAS PHOTOGRAPHING TOURISTS AS A HOBBY

SHE WAS BEING FUCKING SATIRICAL AND OBJECTIFYING

IT’S NOT BECAUSE SHE’S A DUMB KID WITH A WEIRD HOBBY IT’S BECAUSE THEY DO THAT TO HER AND HER FRIENDS AND FAMILY LIKE SHE’S SOME KIND OF FUCKING THEME PARK CHARACTER AND SHE WANTS THEM TO KNOW HOW IT FEELS

HOLY FUCKING DICKS DISNEY WHY WOULD YOU CUT THIS
